Who this policy covers

Just Slideshow lets you play a shared photo album as a full-screen slideshow in a web browser. This policy describes what happens to information when you use the site at https://justslideshow.com/.

Using Just Slideshow without an account

Guest viewing is stateless: no account is created, no record of your slideshow is written, and nothing you paste is saved to a database.

• The album link you paste is carried in the address of the slideshow page and sent with each request so the next batch of photos can be fetched. It is not written to storage. The list of photo addresses for an album is held in the server's memory for about five minutes so repeat requests don't hammer the album service, then discarded.
• Your IP address is used, in memory only, to rate-limit the guest photo endpoint against abuse. It is not written to a database and is dropped as the rate-limit window passes.
• Treat your album link as private. Anyone who has it can view that album, on this site or anywhere else. Pages that carry it are marked so search engines don't index them, but a link you forward is a link you have shared.

Your photos

We do not receive, store, host, or modify your photos. Just Slideshow asks the album's own service for the list of photo addresses in the album, and your browser then loads each image directly from that service — Apple, Google, or Amazon — exactly as it would if you opened the album yourself. Because those requests come from your browser, the album's service can see your IP address and device information under its privacy policy, not ours.

Access lasts only as long as the share does: if you stop sharing the album, the slideshow stops working.

Accounts

New registrations are currently closed. This section applies to existing accounts.

If you have an account, we store:

• Your email address, as your login identity.
• A hashed version of your password. The password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered from the hash — not by us either.
• The slideshows you save: the name you gave each one, the album link or token it plays, which service it came from, and the seconds-per-photo interval.
• A music connection, if you connect one: which service it is and the access token that service issues to us, so playback can resume without reconnecting. We never see your music password.

We email you only about your own account — your access key when you buy, and a reset link if you ask for one. We do not sell this information, and we do not use your email for marketing.

Cookies and local storage

• A session cookie, set only when you log in, to keep you logged in. It is strictly necessary — logging in cannot work without it.

Advertising

Guest slideshows show a short promotional card before the photos start and occasionally during long playback. At present that card is served by us and involves no third-party advertising network, no advertising cookies, and no tracking. If that changes, this page will say so, and where consent is required we will ask for it before any advertising network loads.

Signed-in viewers of saved slideshows are never shown ads.

Analytics

There is no analytics or tracking product on this site — no Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording.

Who processes this data

The site runs on Render (hosting) with a Neon Postgres database, both in the United States. Their infrastructure keeps ordinary server request logs, which can include IP addresses, for operational and security purposes. If you are in the UK or EU, using the site means your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.

How long we keep things

• Guest use: nothing to keep. Short-lived caches expire in minutes.
• Accounts: kept until you ask us to delete the account, at which point the account, its saved slideshows, and any connected music service are removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and California law — you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email privacy@justslideshow.com. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Children

Just Slideshow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described in the site's public change history.
